Hello, I’m Charles Parkinson, and I am standing as an independent candidate in the General Election on 7 October.
In this manifesto you can discover my main policy views by clicking on the links above. I also tell you a bit about myself, and my career in Guernsey politics.
I have held senior positions in Guernsey politics for most of the last 16 years, so why, you may ask, am I standing again? The answer is that, since I was elected President of the Committee for Economic Development at the end of 2017, I have been pushing forward an agenda to diversify and revitalise the Guernsey economy. This is a long and arduous project, requiring vision and determination. In many areas, all the Committee has been able to do in the last couple of years is the preparatory work – feasibility studies etc.
I now want to see these initiatives through to fruition. I am passionate about the work of Economic Development and believe that what we are doing is vitally important. Of course, there can be no guarantees that I will get back to the same position, but with your support, I will at least be able to put myself forward as a candidate.
So, I ask you please to ‘Vote Parkinson’
